Con la expectativa de conocer Chile y hacer prácticas profesionales que les permitan conocer más sobre los sistemas de políticas públicas que tiene nuestro país, arribaron 26 de estudiantes de diversas universidades de Europa y América Latina a estudiar en nuestra Universidad.

Los países de origen de estos alumnos y alumnas son de México (10) Alemania (1), Francia (6), Brasil (4), Bélgica (3), Ecuador (1), Uruguay (1) y España (1). Para ellos, hubo actividades de bienvenida, como una feria gastronómica donde prepararon platos típicos de sus respectivos países y compartieron entre ellos. Este ambiente festivo y de alegría fue organizado por Movilidad Internacional de la Dirección de Relaciones Internacionales de la U. Finis Terrae.

Marina Pinheiro, brasileña y proveniente de la Universidad de San Pablo, estudia Enfermería. Eligió venir a Chile por nuestras bellezas naturales y a la Universidad Finis Terrae, “porque es muy buena en Chile y voy a tener la oportunidad de hacer prácticas clínicas. Además, quiero conocer los sistemas de salud de acá”, indicó la estudiante.

En tanto, David Slezak, originario de República Checa y estudiante de la Universidad de Lovaina (Bélgica), relató que quiere hacer práctica en Kinesiología, ya que se encuentra en el último año de su carrera. “La universidad está en un barrio que es muy bonito y pienso que la gente es muy simpática. Estoy seguro de que será una buena experiencia”.

Los jóvenes participaron en una ceremonia oficial, con las palabras de bienvenida del vicerrector académico, Juan Eduardo Vargas, y del jefe de carrera de Nutrición y Dietética, Gonzalo Costa, en representación de los académicos de la institución.

La coordinadora de Movilidad Internacional de la Dirección de Relaciones Internacionales de la U. Finis Terrae, Rocío Brito, destacó que “para la Universidad Finis Terrae es una gran oportunidad atraer estudiantes de otras casas de estudio de Europa y de América Latina. Se produce un rico aprendizaje entre quienes llegan con nuestros alumnos. Hay un intercambio de culturas, idiomas, y se derriban prejuicios. Eso enriquece la experiencia universitaria”.

 International students from Europe and Latin America join the Finis Terrae University

 These international undergratuates arrived eager to learn about our country and explore the study and professional development opportunities offered by our institution.

Expecting to get to know Chile and doing professional internships that will allow them to learn more about our country’s public policy systems, 26 students from several universities in Europe and Latin America have arrived to study at our University.

These students are from Mexico (10), Germany (1), France (6), Brazil (4), Belgium (3), Ecuador (1), Uruguay (1) and Spain (1). Several activities were organized to warmly welcome them to our institution, including a gastronomic fair where they prepared and shared typical food from their country home. This joyful atmosphere was organized by the International Mobility department of Finis Terrae University’s International Relations Department.

Marina Pinheiro, a Brazilian from the University of São Paulo, studies Nursing. She chose to come to Chile because of our natural beauties and the Finis Terrae University. “It is very good in Chile, and I will have the chance to do clinical practices. In addition, I want to learn about the local health systems,” said the student.

Meanwhile, David Slezak,  from the Czech Republic and a student at the University of Leuven (Belgium), said that he wants to practice kinesiology since he is a senior undergraduate. “The university is located in a very nice neighborhood, and I think the people are very nice. I’m sure it will be a good experience”.

The new international students were welcomed in a ceremony, with greetings from the academic vice-rector, Juan Eduardo Vargas, and Gonzalo Costa, head of Nutrition and Dietetics, representing the institution’s faculty.

The coordinator of International Mobility of the International Relations Department of the Finis Terrae University, Rocío Brito, highlighted: “it is a great opportunity for Universidad Finis Terrae to attract students from other universities in Europe and Latin America. Rich learning occurs among foreign and local students. There is an exchange of culture and language, and prejudices are broken down. That enriches the university experience.”, Brito said.
